Swick Labs builds websites and AI systems for small and mid-sized UK businesses. We are a boutique studio, not an agency floor: the person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. Every engagement is priced openly in pounds before you speak to anyone, because the single most common complaint about this industry is that nobody will tell you what anything costs until you have sat through a discovery call.
Boutique is a deliberate choice rather than a stage we are hoping to grow out of. A small studio can afford to turn down work that is not a good fit, and can put the person who understood the problem in front of the keyboard. Both of those get harder as an agency scales.
We are based in Birmingham and work with businesses across the UK. Most of what we do is remote, and we are happy to meet in person when it helps.
What we believe
Prices belong on the website.
The most common complaint about this industry is that nobody will tell you what anything costs until you have sat through a call. Every one of our prices is published, in pounds, on this site.
AI is a tool, not the product.
We use it where it genuinely helps and say so where it does not. Our AI Readiness Audit regularly ends with a recommendation to automate one thing and leave the rest alone, which is a more useful answer than an enthusiastic one.
You should own what you paid for.
Code, content and accounts are handed over at the end of a project. Nothing we build holds your business hostage to us, which means we have to keep earning the relationship.
We do not invent credentials.
You will not find testimonials, client logos, star ratings or project counts on this site, because we are not going to fabricate them. When we have client work we are permitted to show, it will appear here with the client’s name on it.
The honest bit
The previous version of this site was a WordPress build that went down entirely — a plugin conflict took every page offline and left the domain serving errors. Rather than patch it, we rebuilt on the stack we now use for client work. It is the same job as our Website Rescue service, which is a fair test of whether we should be selling it.
